Henry of Pelham Estate Winery

1469 Pelham Rd, St. Catharines

Henry of Pelham’s 300-acre vineyard is located in the Short Hills Bench sub-appelation of the Niagara Peninsula. It is one of the oldest wineries in the region, and was one of the first to make premium wines from their own grapes. Today the Henry of Pelham Estate Winery has a charming restaurant called The Coach House Café run by Chef Erik Peacock, often featured as the profiled chef and star of LCBO cooking events. The winery offers tours and tastings throughout the year where you are invited to sample the dozens of vintages they produce. Highlighting the interior spaces within the winery is a robust collection of Canadian art by painters and sculptors from The Annex area of Toronto whose works were collected by the Henry of Pelham family throughout the ‘70s. Having enjoyed global careers in banking and tech, Grant Westcott and Carolyn Hurst sold their home in Toronto to follow their dreams of becoming winemakers. They initially planted 28 acres of grapes in Jordan Station, hired winemaker Arthur Harder and created their first vintage in 2012. In 2014 their daughter, Victoria Westcott joined the team to lead the customer experience. Grant and Carolyn are excited about the promise their wines are showing and strive to improve every year, constantly growing and listening – to the earth, the grapes, and their customers. They are waiting for you to join them and share a glass of wine.
